Think Pink Earrings Part II

Filed under: Jewelry, Sarah's Surprises — Sarah @ 7:22 am

The Think Pink Earrings Part II, $25, from jaC Jewelry are so flirty and fun!

These delicate earrings are made with white freshwater pearls and sparkly Swarovski crystal bicones attached to a sterling silver chain. The cascading Swarovski crystals come in three transparent and two opaque shades of pink. The earrings are accented with Bali sterling silver ear wires.

These pretty little earrings are perfect for any time of the year! They will brighten up either a dressy or casual outfit.

Janna shares why Breast Cancer Awareness is important to her:

Cancer awareness is important to me because several close people have battled several types of cancer, and having one of my parent (my dad) who went through the diagnosis and treatment, I know first-hand what an awful disease it is. With breast cancer specifically, two of my closest friends’ moms are survivors, and I want to do something positive and honor all the strong women who have amazing courage and strength to fight the disease.

Cancer Awareness Bracelet

Filed under: Jewelry, Sarah's Surprises — Sarah @ 7:50 am

This cancer awareness bracelet, $48, from Designs By Reese, spells out HOPE.

20% of the total retail from this bracelet will be donated to the Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition.

Hope is so important when you’re dealing with cancer -hope that you can persevere, hope that we can find a cure, hope that you will survive if you’ve been diagnosed with cancer, and hope that you won’t get cancer.

I think this is a great reminder that although cancer isn’t pleasant, we still have hope.

Reese says:

Both my mother and grandmother had breast cancer. Thanks to early detection, both had surgery and survived. My grandmother had two bouts with the disease 25 years apart. My grandmother passed away 10 years ago of natural causes. My mom has been cancer free for 16 years. Because of the strong family history, I’ve been getting mammograms since I was 30 and although I’ve had several suspicious lumps and one biopsy, I’ve been fortunate! Because I have two daughters, I do everything I can to support the research for a cure!

Spring Rose Bracelet

Filed under: Jewelry, Sarah's Surprises — Sarah @ 7:30 am

Isn’t the Spring Rose Bracelet, $22, from Gabrie’s Shop, too cute?

Is time for us to go pink!!

This Spring Rose Bracelet has antique Bali silver bead linked, decorated with some Swarovski fuchia crystal and white pearl together with tiny pink sequins flower. Look beautiful and dreamy!

Gabrie’s Shop is offering 10% off all pink items during October - that way you can save your 10% and donate it to your nearest Breast Cancer Charity.

Gabrie says:

I have a ‘cancer’ affected family on my mother’s side. All of my mother’s siblings are cancer patients, most of them are affected by breast, lung, nose and throat cancer. My family members have very much become aware and familiar with this disease and we already know how to handle the feeling and sadness. I can say most of my family members have mentally prepared themselves to be cancer patients one day because of it being such a dominant disease in my family. However, I am a health conscience person, which makes the thought of cancer very scary for me. :)

However, God blessed my mother, as she is a breast cancer survivor. When the doctor told her about her cancer, she made a fast and right decision in the beginning stage to operate and remove her cancer affected breast. I know that her heart was sad and depressed about being affected by cancer, but we could not do much for her at that moment but I feel proud of my mom. She is a strong woman…

Sometimes we should believe some of the traditional practices. That is what my mother has been practicing since 2001, when she had cancer. Please do not take ‘chicken, duck, kampong fish, durian, alcohol and cold water’…I do not know if you believe this or not, but no harm to try. God bless you!

The Hope Copper Collection Necklace

Filed under: Jewelry, Sarah's Surprises — Sarah @ 6:47 am

“One day the world will be cancer free”

That’s what the Hope Copper Collection 2 Necklace, $29, from Industrial Poppy says.

Leanne says:

Both of my parents have had cancer, fought the battle, and won! My dad struggled with colon cancer and my mom has had two bouts, first with ovarian, then breast cancer. They are both living happy healthy lives and in fact, it might be said that they have found a kind of renewed enthusiasm for life. I admire them both greatly, and my collection honors them, as well as the many other family members and friends that have struggled with this indiscriminate disease. It is my firm belief that we will see an end to cancer in our lifetimes!

Pink Lemonade and Lime Earrings

Filed under: Jewelry, Sarah's Surprises — Sarah @ 7:48 am

These Pink Lemonade and Lime Earrings, $12, from BeadBrat Originals have such a fun name.

If they are purchased by October 31, 30% of the purchase price of the earrings will be donated to breast cancer research.

This is what MaryBeth has to say about Breast Cancer Awareness, and who she chose to donate to:

I am doing this because I have several friends who have been affected by this disease. Three of these women have had to have double mastectomies. They are brave women who did not let the disease slow them down a step. They live vibrant, giving lives, making each moment count!

I have chosen to do this through my shop, because, like many others right now, I do not have extra cash on hand, I do have my hands and can put them to good use this way. I do hope that buyers will be generous and help me support this cause.

I have chosen the National Breast Cancer Foundation Inc as the group I will donate to, because they fund free mammograms for women who can not afford them, they fund research, and they educate women about breast cancer. It is a many pronged approach, which I feel is important. They are also very highly rated by Charity Navigator, a group that evaluates the efficiency of the way donations are used. I feel confident that they won’t waste the money we raise.
