Filed under: Jewelry, Sarah's Surprises — Sarah @ 9:43 am

And from one Liv’n Good Jewelry we have a beautiful Water Goddess Necklace.

I love the way you can just see the water goddess on the pendant.

Through the end of October 50% of the price of any item sold from Liv’n Good Jewelry’s Jewelry for the Cure Section will be donated to the Susan G Komen Foundation supporting breast cancer research and education.

And remember, for every comment you leave on the blog through October 30, I’ll be donating $1 to the Susan G Komen foundation.

All you have to do is leave a comment - but I’m not going to do it without you - if no one leaves a comment, then I’m not donating any money :-).

Tatted Breast Cancer Awareness Ribbon - and Comments 4 A Cure

Filed under: Jewelry — Sarah @ 6:47 am

I thought it was only fitting to start Comments 4 A Cure with a Breast Cancer Awareness Ribbon, and this Tatted Breast Cancer Awareness Ribbon, $4 from Keena’s Kreations, is beautiful and unique.

All proceeds from the sale of this ribbon will go to the Susan G. Komen Foundation for Breast Cancer Research, which coincidentally is who the proceeds for Comments 4 A Cure will go to.

If you’re not familiar with Comments 4 A Cure, participating blogs in the Beauty Blog Network pick 3 days, and for each comment that is left on the blog during those days, money will be donated to a cancer charity.

Sarah’s Surprises is participating from October 28-October 30 - so leave a comment if you’d like to raise money to help find a cure for breast cancer, or if breast cancer Awareness is important to you.

For each comment that is left on the blog, I’ll be donating $1 to the Susan G Komen foundation, with a max of $50.

Keena, from Keena’s creations shares why Breast Cancer Awareness is important to her:

My step-mother was a wonderful woman. She had a wonderful smile and an amazing sense of humor, which she kept all through her chemo treatments. I got to see her only a few times a year when I went to visit my father. On the last visit, she taught me to crochet. This skill has been a big part of my life ever since. Shortly after I went home from this visit, she lost her battle with breast cancer. Every time I pick up my hook, I think of her. She was so quirky and funny and one of the best things to have happened in mine and my father’s lives. I think of her all year long, but Breast Cancer Awareness month always makes me want to do a little something extra in her honor. I feel that breast cancer awareness is so imporant because I know what it’s like to be a child and lose someone who means so much to you. No matter how old you are, it’s always difficult to lose someone you love and you never forget it. I feel it’s important for everyone who has known someone who has been affected by breast cancer, whether they triumphed or not, to do a little something to help in the fight against this disease.

Keena didn’t know that I was going to be starting Comments 4 A Cure with her message ( I didn’t know until I sat down to post this) but her message is fitting - if you want to do a little something to help the fight all you have to do is leave a comment.

It’s that easy.

Pink Beaded HOPE Bracelet

Filed under: Jewelry, Sarah's Surprises — Sarah @ 7:24 am

The pink beaded HOPE bracelet, $5, is part of Afrique’s new PINK collection which was designed to inspire and increase breast cancer awareness.

10% of proceeds from Afrique will be donated to Susan G Komen For The Cure in support of breast cancer research and education.

Bethany from Afrique shares:

Breast Cancer Awareness is important to me because about 4years ago a very close friend of mine discovered she had breast cancer. She had to undergo treatment, but thankfully not major surgery. Today, she is a breast cancer survivor, and an inspiration to me. She fought hard and beat cancer. If more women were taught about breast cancer, and were able to receive help in diagnosis and treatment, we could wipe out breast cancer forever.

Bethany contacted me again on Oct. 6 and said:

I found out on Sunday that a very close friend of mine has a pre-cancerous lump in her breast. I am glad they caught it early and the only way they did was because she has yearly mammograms. I am on even more of a mission now to get the word out.

I wish Bethany’s friend the best, and although it is a terrible thing to have happen, it just goes to show how important Breast Cancer Awareness, and yearly mammograms are.

Simply Aware Necklace

I think Chara says it better than I can:

For the woman who loves simple, elegant jewelry, here is a piece that is quiet but says a million words!

Simply Aware Necklace, $16, by Creations By Chara.

Am I the only one who loves the bowl she’s got the necklace in? :-).

10% of all purchases during October will be donated to Gilda’s Club.

Joy shares:

Breast Cancer Awareness is important to me because my mom died from it on November 15, 2004. She struggled for 5 years with an aggressive form of breast cancer that eventually spread to her lymph nodes, lungs, kidneys, bones, brain- basically her entire body. I do not want another daughter, aunt, sister, mother, father, brother, anyone to have to experience the final breath of their loved ones surrounded by oxygen tanks and machines.

The Simply Aware Necklace is just that. It’s a simple necklace without anything flashy or bold that is a constant reminder that hope is on the horizon. I think it is important to remember loved ones who’ve passed, those who are struggling in the now, those who have survived, and for the future generations that may be touched by cancer. I know that I want a cure when my daughters are older! It scares me that they may one day have cancer and I am willing to fight so that doesn’t happen.

Pink Button Dangle Earrings

Filed under: Jewelry, Sarah's Surprises — Sarah @ 7:43 am

Aren’t these pink button dangles, $4, cute? I don’t think I’ve ever seen button earrings before.

Poetinme is donating 50% off all of the pink items in her “PINK” section, and 10% of the price of the other items in her shop to the Susan G. Komen foundation.

Poetinme shares:

Breast cancer awareness is important to me even though it has not personally touched my life..I am a woman so the chance is always there. I did have cervical cancer so I know how cancer can send waves through a family.
